#1902 1920 Tunic with Kimono Sleeve
The original vintage pattern for this "waist" or blouse dates from 1920. We are putting the pattern in our teens section as it looks more at home there than with all the dropped waist dresses from the 20s.
This top is a great looking pull-over with two different cuff options; there is a long shaped cuff or a turned back cuff. The sleeves are kimono style and cut in one with the upper section of the top. The back of the blouse has a slightly shaped hemline that is very cute!
By combining different fabrics for the different parts of this blouse, this vintage pattern can be dressy or casual. You can use rayon, linen, crepe, silk or velvet for the lower blouse; sheers, laces, handkerchief linen and other lighter weight fabric for the sleeves and upper section.
Just think of the fun you will have picking out fabric for this one! Don't feel pressure though; the style lines are so great, you might just be tempted to wear your muslin mock-up! In other words, the pattern works just fine when using only one fabric. We know we've found another vintage pattern that will fit in perfectly with the modern wardrobe.
This is one of those early century vintage patterns that has 8" inches of ease at the bust while the sleeves have a regular amount of ease for a blouse.
3 sizes included in each pattern. Must choose size range to purchase.
