What's in your PDF Patterns?

PLEASE USE A STRONG WIFI CONNECTION TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PDF FILES.

PDF patterns contain Print-at-Home (PAH) files for A4 or letter sized paper. Each PDF pattern also contains a copy shop file for A0 paper (the product page and the file name indicate the number of A0 sheets in the pattern.) Some patterns have a US Copy Shop file for 36" wide paper. These files are named as such and have the dimensions in the file name as well as published on the product page.

At this point, only pattern 109 offers layers in the copy shop file to print your desired size only. We will not be retroactively offering this feature on the older PDFs.

Once your payment is processes, you will receive a download link email from us. It might take a minute of two to receive that email. If the download email never arrives, check your SPAM folder. Transactions flagged as high risk of fraud will not get immediate download access and will require contacting us (info (at) decadesofstyle (dot) com) for approval.

Orders have a limit of 3 downloads. Replacement download links are limited to 2 years after date of purchase.

PDF pattern sales are FINAL SALE. Refunds for duplicate purchases are only issued when purchased together and disputed within 24 hours of completed sale. 

Why can't I open the PDF with Adobe Illustrator?

The PDF files are password protected for our security. No, you cannot have the password.

Please use Adobe Acrobat or Apple Preview to open the pdf files and print them. 

I lost my PDF files that I purchased X years ago, can I have new downloads?

Replacement download links have a 2-year limit from date of purchase.


Do you have a photo of a real person wearing this?

If we have a photo for a pattern, it is already on the product page with the pattern. If there is no photo, we don't have one yet. 


How much fabric does it take for this pattern?

Yardage requirements for each pattern are in the tile with the technical information for the pattern. This is the second tile option for every pattern. The yardages are for modern fabric widths, 44" and 60" wide fabric.

Reserve Pattern Collection patterns do not provide modern yardages or cutting layouts. There are rough estimates in the product descriptions. You will need to determine your own yardages for those patterns.


Will the patterns fit me?

Will it fit you perfectly right out of the package? Probably not (and if it does, go buy a lottery ticket immediately!). The patterns are tested and conform to a modern body type with fuller upper arms and lower bust line than were standard in the 20th century. Please, please, please, make a test version out of muslin or clearance fabric to address fitting issues! It will save you time and money in the long run and improve your success rate for your projects. Unfortunately, it is just not possible for Decades to provide custom fitting consultations; a sewing teacher is best suited to help with fitting questions.


What size pattern should I make?

The patterns are drafted based on a B-cup bra size. Measure at the fullest part of the bust if you are a B cup.
If your bra CUP size is bigger than a B cup, take your bust measurement at the high bust (measure just above the breast mass at approximately the armpit level) and use the high bust measurement to choose your size. You might want to do some research on the internet for Full Bust Adjustment or FBA if you have a large cup size.

For pants patterns, use your hip measurement to choose your size.

Do you have printed patterns for sale?

As of May 2026, we are no longer selling printed paper patterns. The patterns for which we have PDFs version are all listed for sale on this site. If there’s a pattern you wanted and it’s not on the website anymore, unfortunately, you have missed your chance.

Do you have a blog?

Yes we do! Find it under the menu.


Do you teach classes?

The title of "teacher" is a sacred one and not something that we take lightly. There is no one at Decades of Style who qualifies to have that title so we do not offer any classes. 


Can I cancel my order?

All sales are final sale. We are not Amazon; your order cannot be cancelled or returned. 


How do I know my transaction will be safe?

Will you be re-doing the patterns with separate size groups so that all sizes come in one pattern?
